The blissfully empty roads during lockdown has seen cycling for the whole family become a favourite passtime. So whether you are a relative newby, adrenalin seeking mountain biker or training for the next le Tour - we have it all!
There is no finer place than the Yorkshire Dales to cycle with it's stunning scenery, quiet roads, smooth tarmac, wonderful dales and moors, great climbs and descents. For the more experienced road riders of you, the Yorkshire Dales offer the most amazing road riding experience in the UK.
Tour De Yorkshire
Following the amazing success of the Tour De France 2014 which came through Skipton, we have seen an increase of cyclists wanting to retrace the route. We can provide details of the route for you to experience your own Tour De Yorkshire.
Mountain Biking
The Yorkshire Dales are prime mountain biking country. There are thousands of kilometres of bridleways, byways and green lanes to explore, all in remote, unspoilt countryside.
In addition to this Gisburn forest offers fantastic mountain biking with beautiful views. Glide easily along mellow trail by Bottoms Beck, twist and shout through Park Wood, dance with your bike down Hully Gully or grit your teeth and rush down the Bigfoot slab – everyone should find something that will make them grin.
Electric Bikes
There is no dispute that our great landscape can be enjoyed so much more from a bike. However, if the thought of pedalling some of the climbs to gain the perfect views put you off, then why not hire an electric bike to do some of the hard work for you.
Staff Secrets
Our chefs have also been bitten by the cycling bug and have put together details of some of their favourite cycling routes. Details of these are available for our residents - but don't tell anyone or else our hidden gems won't be secret for long!
